New tourist signs are currently being installed around Dublin City. The roll-out of the signs was delayed because the Irish language text was less prominent, the now closed Sunday Tribune reported at the start of the year. These images of the March Market of the Smithfield Horse Fair were taken in the afternoon. Earlier in the morning gunshot were fired causing a stampede and afterwards the DSPCA renewed their call to close the horse fair. If the call for emergency legislation to ban the fair is heeded by the incoming government this could be one of the last horse fairs at Smithfield.

Cycling tracks in Dublin are usually blamed for putting people off cycling. This cycle route along the canal is expected to be different. Onlookers were left bemused as around a hundred people dressed as zombies assembled in St.Stephen’s Green park and roamed the city streets in an attempt to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society and RNLI Lifeboats. More images can be viewed here. Video of the Dublin Zombie Walk

Up to 22,000 people lined the streets of Dublin today for the culmination of the 2010 Dublin Pride festival. The parade began on Parnell square and moved down O’Connell street and on to Westmoreland street before reaching Dame street. It reached its finishing point near Christchurch cathedral.
