Drugs seized in Terenure

Gardai say they have arrested a man and seized illegal drugs with an established street value of €250,000 in Terenure, Dublin.

Subject to analysis the drugs include cannabis resin, cocaine and a small amount of cannabis herb. The find was described as part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs.

“The operation began when a car was stopped on Terenure Road, Dublin 6, at 11pm on the 10th of April 2011. A man in his 30s was arrested and is currently detained at Terenure Garda Station under Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996,” said Sergeant Jim Molloy.

He added: “In a follow up search at a house in Mercer Street, Dublin 2 a further quantity of drugs were seized. The bulk of the drugs were found in the house. In total Garda seized 8kgs of cannabis resin, 2.5kgs of cocaine and a small amount of cannabis herb.”
