Men stabbed in Terenure house this morning

A man was arrested after two men were found stabbed in a house in Terenure

The 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is being detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Terenure Garda Station. Gardai say he can be detained for a maximum period of 24 hours.

“Shortly before 5.20am this morning, Gardai from Terenure were called to the scene of an assault at Greenmount Lawns, Dublin 6W. On arrival at the scene they found a man in a collapsed state on the porch of a house,” said Sergeant Gerry Curley.

He added: “He had suffered a stab wound to the stomach and chest. On entering the house they discovered another man with lesser stab wound injuries.  Both men were taken to James’s Hospital by ambulance crews.”

One of men – described as middle aged — remains in hospital in a critical condition. The man with lesser injuries – who is 26-year-old – has since been released from hospital.
