Body recovered from River Liffey

The body of a man in his 20s was removed from the River Liffey in Dublin today.

It is understood the man entered the water at 2.30am this morning at James Joyce Bridge and Gardai tonight confirmed he was found close to that point.

“After an extensive search conducted by gardai, the Dublin Fire Brigade, the Coast Guard and the Garda Sub Aqua unit, the body of a male in his 20s was discovered by garda divers at approx 10.30am.” said Sergeant Tony Connaughton.
