Murdered man found in Dublin 15 named

A man found stabbed and beaten to death in Dublin has been named and two arrests were made in connection to the murder.

Gardai named the man as 31-year-old Adil Essalhi who had an address in Drumcondra, Dublin 9.

Blanchardstown Gardai last night also renewed an appeal for information from the public last night.

The body of the man was found in a ditch between a field and GAA pitches off Bellgree Avenue in Tyrellstown, Dublin 15. The body was removed to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown and a post-mortem was conducted by the State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy.

RTE News reported that the dead man was found in 3 foot of water in the ditch and an attempt had been made to burn the body after death, but Gardai are now saying that the post mortem examination results will not be released at this stage.

“The post mortem has concluded on the body found in Tyrellstown… and the results are not being released to media for operational reasons,” said Sergeant Gerry Curley of the Garda Press Office.

A woman and man were arrested on Friday. A 21-year-old woman was arrested yesterday evening and is being detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act. While a man in his late 30s was arrested after 1pm and remains in custody, he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 on suspicion of murder.

“Gardai are asking anyone who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious in the last 7 days in the area near Bellgree Avenue or the nearby playing-fields to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01-6667000 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111,” said Sergeant Curley.
