Gardai raid nets cannabis worth up to €250,000Dublin City, News Saturday, December 4th, 2010
Gardai in Dublin arrested two men after finding what they believed to be 20kg of cannabis pollen.
The cannabis was seized in a raid on a warehouse at around 8pm last night in the Beaumont area of Dublin. Gardai put the value of the drugs at an estimated street price of €250,000, subject to forensic analysis.
The two men – aged 22 and 28 – are being detained in Santry and Swords Garda Stations. Both are being detained under provisions of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
“The search was carried out as part of an operation targeting organised crime in the Northern Dublin Division. The intelligence-led operation was carried out by the Organised Crime Unit supported by the Garda National Drugs Unit and members from the Northern Dublin Division,” said Sergeant Alan Roughneen of the Garda Press Office.
