American football comes to Tallaght Stadium

The championship game of the Irish American Football League, the Shamrock Bowl, will be played on Saturday at Tallaght Stadium.

University of Limerick Vikings will play the Dublin Rebels in what is being described as a family oriented event aimed at people who may never have attended a live American football game before.

“I’m delighted to be able to welcome American football to Tallaght Stadium, it is great to have the opportunity to go along and see organised competitive American football, for what should prove to be a great day,” said Cathal King, deputy mayor of South Dublin County Council.
