Northside to host 4th annual Music Festival

The Northside Music Festival returns for it’s 4th time this August to offer the city a range of diverse music events.

Taking place from the 2nd to the 17th of August the free festival will see the Northside of the city flush with musical performances from a rich array of both Irish and International talent including Balkan gypsy folk, contemporary Irish music, Latin American Samba, Classical and Early Irish music as well as Gospel music.

Events will take place in a range of venues and admission to all performances is free.

With the support of the Arts council the festival will also feature a workshop programme with youths across the city, allowing groups to work with experienced musicians who have specialist skills in percussion, rhythm and samba. These include Simeon Smith, Sarah Walker (MaSamba) and Rónán Ó Snodaigh (Kíla). The aim of the workshops is to develop young talent and celebrate inter-cultural activity.
